INSPIRED INTERIORS: MEET MELISSA

Let me introduce myself I’m Melissa Hepperle, the founder and creator behind Inspired Interiors.

I look forward to sharing my story about what led me to become a designer and I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me a little better!I grew up in Calgary, Alberta and always had a passion for the creative arts which lead me to interior design. I pursued my passion for design at a private technical college in Toronto and was amazed by the many facets of interior design and have never looked back. After graduating college in 2009 in Toronto, I decided to come back to Calgary to be near friends and family while I immersed myself into the design world. I started out by designing custom kitchens and millwork for many of the high end builders in the city, which only ignited my passion for interiors. 3 years ago I decided to start my own company as it was the next natural progression as I had learned so much from designing custom kitchens and had many clients asking me to do more then just that for them. I think my willingness to help others and to offer a creative approach to interior design is one of the many reasons why I am in the interior design business. One of the things I enjoy most about my work is helping clients visualize their dream spaces and then seeing those spaces come to life. Project reveals are one of the most rewarding times as a designer because you get to see the appreciation for all of the hard work and I love to see my clients eyes filled with happiness .As I mentioned being an interior designer comes with many different roles. Some days, my work includes coming up with ideas for designing new plans for my clients, while on others, I source new materials and finishes for projects and also go to sites to check up on my projects during the renovation or new build process. There are many routine tasks that I do which include checking emails, going to meetings with clients or contractors, going to suppliers to source samples for projects, CAD drafting, sourcing plumbing and appliances, writing up specifications for client or contractor approvals, shopping and styling to name a few. It can be crazy at times but so worth it!While I am at work, I ensure that I am kind and approachable especially when I am working with my clients, I want to make sure they feel comfortable and apart of the design process while providing the highest customer service that I can. When I am not working, you can find me at the gym working out, hiking, reading, spending time with family and friends and trying all of the new wonderful restaurants this city has to offer. The credit of who and where I am today firstly goes to my mother for being able to teach me strength, courage, and a great work ethic. Secondly, to my grade ten art teacher and mentor who saw a creative spark in me that helped me decide to follow this path to become an interior designer.I believe that running a business requires a lot of time and dedication. I have great respect for other businesses and those who choose to be entrepreneurs. Being able to create my own interior design company was a great achievement and has been one of the most satisfying moments of my life. I look forward to seeing what the future will bring.I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business. If you or someone you know could benefit from our expertise in interior design services, I invite you to get in touch.
